Week 16: I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

Another funny novel from my favorite chick lit author! She has done it again!

I’ve Got Your Number features Poppy Wyatts and the story of how she lost her ring, her phone, her fiance, and found her self, her assertive voice, and the man who would love her as she is.

Interspersed with gooky business conspiracies and shop talk, this novel isn’t as funny as Twenties Girl but still would surely make you love Poppy Wyatts’ character as she is nice to the point of being bullied (as most girls can become). I love how she finally found her assertive voice and spoke up for what she thinks was best for her.

Can’t wait for your next novel Ms. Sophie Kinsella!

Week 15: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

The last installment in The Hunger Games trilogy. I felt sad after finishing the books. No more Katniss and Peeta left to read haha. Will just wait for the movies then.

This last book details the actual rebel movement headed by previously believed defunct now properly functioning government of District 13. I felt this was the weakest book in the series. Ir lacked the spunk of the previous 2 installments. Or maybe I’m just concerned that Katniss herself lacked some spunk as she neared her goal of killing President Snow?

Read on, be amazed, cry and rant with Katniss as she undergoes her ordeals in both District 13 and the Capitol.

In the meantime, I just have to wait for the next two movies. Gotta save up for more Hunger Games paraphernalia then! :)

Week 14: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Finished this in 3 days. Because I can’t literally put it down. I feel that I would miss Katniss and the whole gang once I closed the book! Haha

This second helping of The Hunger Games features Katniss and Peeta’s return to the arena for the 75th Hunger Games known as the Quarter Quell.This time, the Capitol took the tributes from the the districts’ remaining victors, which means Peeta and Katniss are bound to be tributes again. This time, Katniss vows to save Peeta’s life, even if it means sacrificing her own.

The arena being a ticking clock was brilliant.

The ending, however, just leaves you hanging, and thinking… and begging for more explanations…

Which is why I am thankful I got the boxed set. Mockingjay up next! :)
